  • Other Information: Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao (born March 3, 1997) is a Cuban singer and songwriter. She rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, formed on the reality show The X Factor in 2012, signing a contract with Syco and Epic Records. While still part of the group, Cabello began to establish himself as a solo artist, releasing the collaborations "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes and "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, which reached No. on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the United States. After leaving the group in late 2016, Cabello released numerous songs, including "Hey Ma", a collaboration with J Balvin and Pitbull from The Fate of the Furious soundtrack and his debut solo single titled "Crying in the Club".
  • Cabello's debut album Camila (2018) topped the Billboard 200 charts. The pop music record, with strong Latin music influences, was well received by critics and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association. of America (RIAA). Her lead single, "Havana", reached the top of the charts in numerous countries and her follow-up single, "Never Be the Same", reached the top 10 in several other countries. Cabello's second collaboration with Shawn Mendes, "Señorita", became her second single to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Her second studio album, titled "Romance", reached number three on the Billboard 200 and the top of the Canadian charts and albums.
  • Cabello has accumulated billions of streams on music platforms and has received several important awards throughout his career, such as the Billboard Music Awards, Latin Grammys and American Music Awards. She has also been nominated three times for a Grammy Award.
  • Camila Cabello was born in Havana, on the island of Cojímar in Cuba. She is the daughter of Alejandro and Sinuhe Cabello. As a child, approximately six years old, the singer migrated to Mexico with her family, in search of better living conditions. Although she managed to settle in the city, her parents did not adapt to the country, making the decision to migrate to the United States.
  • To enter the new country, Camila's mother said that they were going to visit Disney and that's why her father would stay behind. Together, they faced a 36-hour trip to Miami where, through friends and acquaintances, they took up residence. Sinuhe, who was an architect, had to look for work in other sectors, starting to work in department stores in the United States while her daughter began her studies. To better learn the language, the future singer would have spent part of her days watching Disney cartoons and programs. After approximately 1 year and a half of the move, Camila Cabello's father managed to enter the country, joining his family and founding, together with his wife, a company dedicated to the civil construction sector. However, despite this, they have not lost their links with Latin culture, which directly influenced the singer who grew up listening to artists like Celia Cruz and Alejandro Fernandez.
  • In addition to the musical influence of listening to artists, Camila Cabello grew up in a space where music occupied her daily life, and often during family lunches her father would start playing the guitar and encouraging her to sing. As a child, she was considered by her family as a very shy person, unable, for example, to sing in front of family members when someone was playing an instrument. This trait continued during Camila Cabello's teenage years while a student at Miami Palmetto High School, until the moment she created her own YouTube channel to share short covers. Despite starting to post videos online, the singer faced some problems with shyness, recording only when her parents left her alone at home.
  • In the year 2012, when she was turning 15, she asked her parents to allow her to audition for the reality show The X-Factor. Even surprised and fearful for their daughter, her parents decided to support her, taking the agreement that they would make a family trip to North Carolina to audition for the program. Despite efforts, Camila was unable to attend until the last day of auditions when she was called to the stage and performed with the song Respect by singer Aretha Franklin, being then approved for the next stage of the competition. From that moment on, the singer would assume the artistic name of Camila Cabello and begin her artistic career in the program
