Casa del Dragón (in English, House of the Dragon) is an upcoming fantasy, drama, romance and action television series directed by Clare Kilner, Geeta Patel, Miguel Sapochnik and Greg Yaitanes, written by Ryan Condal, George RR Martin and Sapochnik. and produced by HBO Max.12 Its argument, which makes House of the Dragon a prequel to Game of Thrones, will be set three centuries before the events of the series released in 2011, exploring the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen and their noble house,3 followed by the dynasty that ruled The Seven Kingdoms.24 With its premiere scheduled for 2022, the first season will consist of 10 episodes2 and will star Eve Best, Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D 'Arcy, Rhys Ifans and Matt Smith.1

Based on the novel by RR Martin Fire and Blood, the story of House of the Dragon will take place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and will tell the origin story of House Targaryen.1234 Steve Toussaint will play Lord Corlys Velaryon, Best his wife, Princess Rhaenys Velaryon and dragon rider. Ifans as Otto Hightower, the hand of King Viserys Targaryen, and Sonoya Mizuno will play Mysaria, a woman who came to Westeros empty-handed; she had to do everything possible to survive and finally became the most faithful ally of Prince Daemon Targaryen, heir to the Iron Throne.56 It was later confirmed that Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Paddy Considine and Emma D'Arcy they joined the cast.2

The series will begin with the broadcast of a pilot episode directed by Sapochnik, also the director of some episodes with high ratings such as The Battle of the Bastards.74 In addition, Sapochnik will serve as showrunner alongside screenwriter and film producer Ryan Condal. 745 The start of filming is scheduled for April 5, 2021,3 in Ireland, Los Angeles, London and Spain.51 In the case of Spain, some of the cities chosen to shoot are Cáceres and Trujillo, in Extremadura; and Granada, in Andalusia.8
