(Lifestyle) Public-private alliance presents the strategy "Healthy Lifestyles"

The Ministry of National Education, the World Food Program (WFP), UNICEF, Fundación Nutresa and the University of Antioquia are part of this alliance that will benefit more than 5,000 children in the country.

• The strategy contributes to strengthening the capacities of girls and boys in healthy eating, physical activity and hygiene practices.

• The strategy will initially be implemented in 10 secretaries of education in the country benefiting boarding schools, schools with a single day that point to being 10 Schools and that have great challenges in their synthetic quality index.

On Wednesday, August 19, from 8 am to 3 pm, the Ministry of Education, the World Food Program - WFP, Unicef, Fundación Nutresa and the Parque de la Vida of the University of Antioquia will present their strategy at the Wyndham hotel in Bogotá 'Healthy Lifestyles (EVS)', which seeks to strengthen the capacities of girls, boys and adolescents in healthy eating, physical activity and hygiene practices.

The implementation of Healthy Lifestyles will begin in 20 educational establishments focused on 10 education ministries of the country (Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar, Boyacá, Cauca, Meta, Chocó, La Guajira, Nariño and Putumayo), articulated with the School Feeding Program (PAE) and the Program for the Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles (PPEVS).

Within the framework of national policies that guarantee permanence and high-quality education for the country's boys and girls with the single day and school meals, these schools will start the path to become 10th Schools with the help of our allies and the Ministry. “They will also be the symbol of the most educated Colombia. From the Colombia that made the decision to invest in education as the route for the construction of a new country and a peaceful future ”. (Minister of education).

The strategy has the commitment of the secretariats of education, at the head of their areas of quality and coverage; of the rectors of the selected educational establishments; PAE operators and the educational community in general to ensure that children, in addition to receiving a quality education, can eat healthy, give meaning to physical activity and develop key hygiene practices.
