#Steeven.™ Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 How is the wonderful reproductive mechanism in dogs and how is the body of the female prepared before going through a pregnancy. A famous book by Richard Dawkins The Selfish Gene argues that our bodies could be just "suits" governed by the peremptory and overriding necessity of the route of our genetic baggage. This is as true for us as it is for our best four-legged friend. For a good result, a series of mechanisms are necessary that, properly coordinated and executed, bring to fruition what appears in principle as a healthy intention. It is common for people to say: "My dog is menstruating", assimilating what happens to the woman with what happens to the dog to such an extent that, sometimes, thinking that "Manchita" or "Negrita" It hurts something in that circumstance, they give her the same painkillers that they consume in that period. It is worth clarifying that only primates menstruate. ****** don't menstruate, ****** are jealous. The arrival of heat is the signal that marks its ability to reproduce. And is that jealousy or cycling not the same? No, it's not the same. A woman's menstruation is the frustration of pregnancy. It is a process preceded by the dedicated preparation of the place where the future baby is supposed to be housed. Let us suppose that the womb, that is, the uterus, were a room, in which a cradle is made, the walls are wallpaper, the windows are painted, etc. as if to receive the new being. Of course, all this expressed in the best figurative sense. Everything is prepared to receive the future child that will be conceived if the "prince charming" deigns to come and bring her sperm to unite with the ovum and generate a new being. But this preparatory wait is not eternal. It has an expiration date and, after that period, the frustration begins. From somewhere, they warn that they are not going to wait any longer and that everything that has been prepared must be dismantled. And then everything is "thrown out the window" and blood loss begins, painful and even with clots. It is the beginning of menstruation, a cycle of the human female that repeats every 28 days, more days less, and will only be interrupted by pregnancy, if it occurs. It is clear that menstruation is a pregnancy that was not, with a very effusive "protest". The dog's zeal is the opposite. It is a very bombastic preparation to receive the future calf. Waiting for the arrival of the “canine gallant”, who will be responsible for achieving the reproductive objective, the uterus of the ***** is prepared by increasing in size, leaving a soft and pleasant bed for the nesting of the future embryo and executing a process similar to that which is takes place in the womb of the woman, in the same situation. It is at this stage where some blood loss occurs in the *****, not due to hemorrhage as in the frustration stage of pregnancy and death of the epithelium, but due to excesses in the preparations in which some blood escapes, without clots and without pain. So, in the *****, the loss is small, without pain, without unpleasant odor and from other causes. In the case of women, when the “warning” arrives that the time to wait for the gallant is over, the blood supply to the endometrium is abruptly cut off due to the narrowing of the caliber of the vessels (the epithelium of the uterus) and as the woman has straight capillaries that occlude when they decrease their thickness and cause the most superficial layer that covers the uterus to die. That layer falls off and as a consequence there is hemorrhage, clots, leaks, pain and odor from the dead tissue. In the *****, when the warning of pregnancy failure arrives, and the blood supply is canceled with the loss of the epithelium, the vessels that are in the form of a spring or spiral cushion the compression without closing or producing as a consequence necrosis or death and therefore no pain, no smell, no bleeding. In women, menstruation is the failure of pregnancy, in dogs, heat is the search for pregnancy. They are the opposite ends of the same reproductive path. Then begins what someone very aptly called: "the crying of the ovum." In women the process would be something like the "cry of the ovum" and in the ***** as if it were "the song of the siren". When the bleeding stops the ***** is, in theory, at the optimal moment to allow mating. Before, he attracted with the smell of pheromones particularly perceived by males, without allowing mating, even attacking, in an almost "hysterical" game, the suitors. 1
