However, accepting the child's decision does not mean that parents should give up, the publication emphasizes. The psychologist recommends that from the beginning parents include their children in the planning of their meals. According to Klotter, this already works with two-year-olds. "Ask your child what he wants to eat and prepare the food together"

Also, the German specialist suggests that parents do the shopping together with their children and show them the different foods.
