Juan Guaido, leader of the centre-left Po[CENSORED]r Will Party, called an end to President Nicolas Maduro's 'dictatorship' yesterday and was recognised by U.S. President Donald Trump as the country's interim leader. Trump has hinted at military action but the Kremlin warned of 'catastrophic consequences' if Washington intervened by force, calling foreign intervention a 'path to lawlessness and bloodshed', as Moscow joined China, Turkey and Iran in standing firm behind Maduro. The country's top military command has today expressed its loyalty to Maduro, who has vowed to fight on despite the protests which have erupted after his disputed election victory on May 20 last year.
