G.O.G Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Suleiman Karim of the National Agency for Emergency Management, said that the accident was caused by the overweight of the boat, a total of 21 people, including four children, died when shipwrecked in a river while returning to their villages after finishing an outbreak of violence in the northeast of Nigeria. He asserted that some 50 people were being transported, 29 of them were rescued alive after the accident, Prensa Latina reported. The victims returned to their homes, located in the town of Garin Kare, from where they had fled to take refuge from deadly attacks by armed men about a month ago. For years, the center and north of Nigeria has been the scene of strong clashes between Christian and Muslim groups. The International Crisis Group indicated that so far this year more than 1,300 citizens have died as a result of these clashes.
