G.O.G Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government confirmed that five of its diplomats were killed in the bombing in the Afghan province of Kandahar. The five deceased diplomats were assigned to a mission that worked on development, humanitarian and educational projects in Afghanistan, according to EFE. The emirate president, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, decreed three days of official mourning in honor of the "martyrs who gave their lives in defense of humanitarian causes." The note does not refer to the health condition of the emirate ambassador in Afghanistan, Yumaa Mohamed Abdullah al-Kaabi, who was wounded in the attack, according to the UAE government hours after the attack. The explosion occurred at about 6.30 pm local time, against the office complex of Kandahar governor Homayoon Azizi, who was also injured in the action. As of Tuesday night, Afghan authorities had reported that the bombing killed 11 people, while 12 others were injured.
