G.O.G Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Mexican Federal Police arrested Jesus Alfredo Beltrán Guzmán, nicknamed "El Mochomito", son of one of the founders of the Beltrán Leyva cartel and nephew of Sinaloa cartel chief Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman. Beltrán Guzmán was arrested along with four other men in a Federal Police operation in the western state of Jalisco, the Mexican government said Saturday in a joint statement by the Armed Forces, Interior (Interior) and the National Security Commission . The detainee, identified only as Jesus Alfredo N by virtue of a law prohibiting the full name of those arrested, "was presumably responsible for ordering various kidnappings and killings against members of antagonistic groups, and was also presumed responsible for the distribution of Drug, "the statement added. A federal source who asked not to be identified told AFP that he is the son of Arturo Beltran Leyva, alias "El Mochomo", who headed a cartel along with his brothers and who was arrested in 2008 and extradited to the United States in 2014. The statement said that it investigates its possible relationship "with the kidnapping of several people happened at a restaurant in Puerto Vallarta (on the Pacific coast), last August." On that date, one of the children of "El Chapo" Guzman, also named Jesus Alfredo, was kidnapped along with five other men in a luxurious restaurant but they were released unharmed five days later. The authorities had pointed out that behind the kidnapping of Guzmán hijo was the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel, rival of Sinaloa. According to the statement, it is also being investigated for other attacks in three communities in Sinaloa, where the mother of "El Chapo" and other relatives live. Former allies who tried to seal ties with the marriage of their relatives, the Beltrán Leyva broke with "El Chapo" Guzman, whom they accuse, according to experts in drug trafficking, of having betrayed them by giving the authorities information about their whereabouts and activities. The capture of Alfredo Beltrán Leyva was a blow to the criminal group and in 2009 lost much of its power after Arturo, another of the brothers, was killed in a military operation. After Guzman's recapture last January after leading a spectacular escape from a federal prison in 2015, attacks against his relatives have been reported. According to a report in the newspaper El Universal, the children of these capos wage a war in the 18 municipalities of Sinaloa, five of which would be under the control of the Beltrán and 12 of the so-called "Chapitos", while in Badiraguato, cradle of the Guzman, there would be presence of both groups.
