-DarkJesús- Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Amatrice, Italy.- Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, visited Wednesday the emergency teams deployed in the town of Amatrice, one of the most affected by the earthquake that has shaken this morning central Italy. Renzi helicopter landed outside the municipal sports center, where he greeted the staff of Civil Protection and other volunteers involved in the rescue, Efe said. He was accompanied by the Italian Minister for Infrastructure, Graziano Delrio, and the head of Civil Protection, Fabrizio Curcio, among others, as I was thanking the efforts of the people there. During the visit he had time to talk with some of the volunteers, including staff from the Red Cross. Then it is expected that the head of government reach the town of Rieti to participate in a technical meeting for coordination of Civil Protection, according to local media. In a previous appearance at the seat of Government, Renzi said he will work to "not leave anyone alone, no family." To Renzi, the priority is now "digging to save lives from the rubble." The Italian government said in a statement that the national and European flags on public buildings be flown at half mast today and tomorrow in memory of the victims of the earthquake.
