Wizard ;x Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 There is a new place on Earth where more are lightning strikes and is not Florida or Africa. According to a recent study, the new world capital of the rays is the Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela. The NASA averaged 233 rays per square kilometer per year in the lake using sensor observations aboard a satellite of the Agency. The Congo in Africa had been previously declared as the place where more fall rays of the Earth. The last study is derived from 16 years of observations. It concluded that the combination of the sea and the breeze of the valley that converge on the warm water of the lake cause them to develop electrical storms 279 days a year. The persistent development of these storms is focused in the areas where there is a high density of lightning. Although Africa lost the first place, continues to be the continent with the largest number of places in which frequently fall rays, followed by Asia, South America, North America and Australia. 1
