Wizard ;x Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Who has not been asked what happens when you have a 'déjà vu' or the feeling of reviving a past experience? 'Déjà vu' (in French 'already seen before') is a psychological phenomenon that occurs in approximately 60-80% of the people, something that is almost always fleeting and can occur at any time, according to a study conducted by researchers from the department of neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics at the University of Texas A&M (USA). "According to many studies, approximately two thirds of the people have experienced at least one episode of deja vu in his life," said Dr. Michelle Hook. The researchers describe this phenomenon is the product of a "technical problem" in the brain, when neurons to the recognition and familiarity allow the brain to confuse this with the past. But cases of 'déjà vu' could also be attributed to a "mismatch" in the neural pathways in the brain. This might be due to the fact that the brain is constantly trying to create entire perceptions of the world that surrounds us with a basis in a small amount of sensory information. The sensory information travels through multiple paths to access the higher brain cortical centers (areas that play a key role in memory, attention and perception, etc.), and arrive almost simultaneously with those centers. 1
