Dean Ambrose™
On the market we can find a large number of external boxes to use with any graphics card we want and that can be used on almost any PC, mini PC or laptop. But, in addition, some manufacturers are also committed to launching complete eGPUs, that is, a box and integrated GPU in the same chassis, another interesting option if we do not have a graphics card to use or our needs are not very high. The last manufacturer that has just presented an eGPU of this type, with a box and integrated graphics, is OneXPlayer. This manufacturer has revealed what the graphics card it will offer us in the OneXGPU 2 model: the Radeon 7800M, a dedicated GPU for laptops that is halfway between the RX 7600M / RX7700M and the RX 7900M. OneXGPU 2 Specifications Thanks to the OneXPlayer announcement, we finally know the specifications of the new RX 7800M. AMD's RX 7800M uses Navi 32 and is managed by 12 GB of GDDR memory with a 192-bit interface, compared to the RX 7900M's 16 GB with 256 bits and the RX 7600M's 8 GB with 128 bits. It has 60 RDNA3 computing units, is compatible with up to 3 displays and has a maximum TDP of 180 W. As for connectivity options, the OneXPlayer eGPU has a USB 4.0 port, an OCuLink port, an HDMI port, two DisplayPort ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a memory card reader, an Ethernet port and a compartment to add an M2 SSD. 2280. Being an accessory that will mainly be used for gaming, RGB lighting could not be missing on the top, although the manufacturer does not specify whether this can be configured independently through an application. RX 7800M Performance To demonstrate the good work of this AMD eGPU, the manufacturer has tested its operation in the titles God of War 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2. As these are not titles where a very high number of FPS is necessary, as is the case first and third person shooter type, 60 FPS is more than enough. In the case of God of War 4, with Ultra settings at 2560 x 1600p, more than 60 FPS were achieved on average. With Red Dead Redemption 2, it also achieved a good average of 60 FPS, but with a lower resolution, specifically 1920 x 1080p. With these performance figures, it is clear that the laptops that hit the market with the RX 7800M, at first, seem to be an excellent option to take into account if we want to buy a gaming laptop, as long as they have a reasonable price, although At the moment, NVIDIA's RTX 40 is dominating the market in laptops well above those included in AMD's RX 7900M. Price and availability For now, OneXPlayer has limited itself to announcing this eGPU without establishing a specific release date. We also don't know what its price will be on the market, so we will have to wait, with a little luck, for Gamescom to find out. https://hardzone.es/noticias/tarjetas-graficas/especificaciones-rendimiento-onexgpu/
