On lap 16, coming from behind, Toprak took second, in the wake of Bautista, with Remy Garner and Andrea Locatelli behind the Turk. On the next lap the BMW driver took first place. The commissioners began to wave the flag that announced the appearance of the water. The Toledo native regained the lead, while Rea and Alex Lowes fell.

With 9 laps to go Remy Gardner was leading, ahead of Bautista, Razgatlioglu, Locatelli, Vd Mark, Iannone and Bulega. Andrea Locatelli started to push first, but the group of 7 drivers was still very close together and it seemed that the track was beginning to dry out, although it never got completely wet either.

Bautista regained the first position, followed by Toprak, it seemed that everything was returning to normal with the two world champions in the lead. The Turk attacked and took the lead and won! Second Álvaro Bautista and first podium for Remy Gardner. The 2021 Moto2 world champion, who grew up sportingly in Spain, finally broke the spell and now knows what it's like to get on the box in the WSBK.

Xavi Vierge finished tenth, Tito Rabat fifteenth and Iker Lecuona was grounded all weekend after suffering a fall at the start of the event.

“The Superpole Race was the first time we ran in dry conditions all weekend, so it wasn't easy. I am delighted with what we have achieved. In Race 2 I had good feelings but with the water the behavior of the rear tire changed, which did not allow me to push. That said, the weekend has been very positive,” explained Álvaro Bautista.
