Drosel
THE PSYCHOLOGY OF A WINNER IN SPORTS Excerpts from an article by the famous scientist, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, coach of Tailors Yuri Ivanovich Achieving victory requires the athlete to maximize the mobilization of his physical and mental reserve capabilities both in the preparation process and directly in the competition. The winner feels the highest inner satisfaction from the success achieved, often he thanks not only the coach, himself, the sports fans who helped him morally, but also the higher forces of Earth and Heaven ("catharsis") for the success. The emotions and feelings of the winner can be characterized by the athlete's pride in himself, for his team, for his country. At the moment of the public award, the winning athlete looks at himself as if from the outside and admires himself. At the same time, he feels deep spiritual satisfaction, which gives him moral compensation for the hardships and difficulties he had to overcome on the way to the cherished victory. THERE IS A MEASURE TO EVERYTHING With excessive self-admiration, the winner is in danger of showing disdain for his rivals and even for his comrades, a "star disease" arises. The arrogant athlete very soon loses his former ability to compete, which is the downside of winning sports. however An Olympic medal is by no means a guarantee of a happy family life or the protection of a retired champion from alcoholism, an uncomplicated business career or falling into the networks of criminal structures. Professional and commercial sports often push athletes and their coaches to violate the rules of competition and the moral principles of purity of sports, to secretly take doping, attempts to bribe an opponent or a sports referee, etc. Often, instead of the slogan "Victory is everything!", the appeal "Everything is victory!" is adopted. But victory at any cost means the priority of aggression (external and internal), the rejection of the moral principles of "fair play" (fair play), the direct consequence of which for a short-sighted athlete may be not only loss of health and personal prestige, but sometimes loss of life itself as a result of doping, injury or criminal "showdown". Self-criticism, a sober assessment of their capabilities allows the winner to avoid the pitfalls of fame and mobilize themselves to participate in subsequent competitions. The achievement of victory in sports takes place on a par with the level of physical, technical and psychological preparedness achieved by an athlete for competitions and directly depends on his ability to overcome the negative consequences of competitive stress that occurs long before the start of the competition, but is especially aggravated during it. VICTORY NEVER COMES TO THE WEAK, it is not accidental in itself, but an unforeseen accident can prevent victory from being achieved or, conversely, grant it to a weaker opponent. Winning in sports is always only a consequence of the superiority of one athlete over another in at least one component of fitness. At the same time, the psychological, moral and volitional readiness of an athlete for competitions has now come out on top, this is a decisive factor in the relative equality of the levels of physical and tactical and technical preparedness of athletes of the extra class. In modern sports, the winner is the one who sees earlier, hears earlier, feels and works well mentally, presents and understands his advantages and possible weaknesses of the opponent, and then tactically competently uses this knowledge in the course of wrestling. GENIUS in sports activity is the ABILITY of individual athletes to DEFEAT their rivals even before the start of the competition, i.e. BEFORE the START (for example, A. Karelin et al.).
