Although convertibles are declining in many markets, there is no doubt that they are ideal for offering purer enjoyment under the open sky. And then there are cars like the 2024 BMW M4 Convertible, which take those emotions to a new level thanks to their level of radicality. It is appreciated that in times of electrification we continue to focus on combustion in its maximum essence, with the brand's now legendary six-cylinder in-line. Of course, an increase in power could not be missing to justify the update.

In our market we go directly from the access version and opt for the Competition versions as the only option. That means taking the 3.0-liter turbo six-cylinder engine up to 510 hp and 650 Nm of torque. The manual gearbox option is eliminated, with the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission taking center stage. And another novelty is that there is a version with all-wheel drive, the M4 Cabrio Competition xDrive, which is the one that reaches up to 530 HP of power, establishing a new level.

The BMW M4 Convertible is quite fast, even for a convertible. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds in the case of the top of the range with all-wheel drive and the speed is limited to 250 km/h. Although it is true that it can increase up to 280 km/h with the optional M Driver's Package. The xDrive system of this model offers several configurations to delight the driver. By default, 4WD is selected, but there is also a 4WD Sport mode to prioritize the rear axle and a 2WD with DSC disabled, to deliver everything to the rear without limits. Driving personalization also involves other aspects. The M Setup menu offers three levels of adjustment for the adaptive M suspension, the same as the M Servotronic steering. The brakes can also modify their response, while the outstanding M carbon-ceramics are optional. They could be seen through the M forged wheels, also optional, with a size of 19 inches on the front axle and 20 inches at the rear. There are also some additions such as the M Lap Timer and M Drift Analyzer functions to measure lap times on the circuit or drifting.
