Noticias ALEJANDRO Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 There have been years of incessant requests from the most staunch followers and finally their prayers were answered. Since the last generation of the BMW Z4 came out in 2019, there was one thing that was missing and that many missed: the option for manual transmission. Even with its update, the initial configuration remained and it seemed that hope was lost. However, the BMW Z4 Pure Impulse Edition has arrived to once again excite the most purists with the ideal transmission for this convertible. While the rest of the range remains with the eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, this new special edition is the only one that has the six-speed manual gearbox. It is something possible thanks to its relationship with the Toyota Supra, which has already offered it for a long time. As it could not be otherwise, this transmission is only available with the top-of-the-range M40i variant. That translates into the one linked to the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbo engine, which takes around half of sales. The two-seater convertible maintains the 340 HP and 500 Nm of torque that the most powerful version has, although the manual transmission causes its performance to change slightly. It is somewhat slower, as it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and the maximum speed is still limited to 250 km/h. Despite losing that tenth in acceleration, it gains faithful behavior and strengthens the bond between driver and vehicle. The gear lever boasts of offering short and precise strokes so that the experience is round. In addition, it maintains that chassis that has always made the BMW Z4 stand out. With an almost perfect weight distribution and a low center of gravity, it adds a well-calibrated suspension thanks to adaptive technology with electronically controlled shock absorbers. There is also no shortage of details such as variable sports steering, M sports brakes or the M sports differential on the rear axle. The wheels are asymmetrical, that is, they measure 19 inches on the front axle and 20 inches on the rear axle. Noticias 👆👆👆
