[Auto] Porsche Panamera 2024, a third generation loaded with improvements

Maintaining the essentials of the second generation

Many of us agree that the path that Porsche took after the first Panamera was the correct one. So, for this third phase, the brand has decided not to touch what already works. In short, we have a more evolutionary design and although it may not seem like it, it is completely new: it does not share a single panel with the previous one.

Many of us agree with the path, in terms of design, that Porsche took for the second generation after a first iteration that did not convince everyone. Therefore, for the third era of this model, the brand has decided not to change what already works. Thus, it is seen more as a progression than as a radical change.

In the first instance, the front looks somewhat cleaner with a grill that also reminds us of the changes seen in the 2024 version of the Cayenne.

All the elements of the front clip, that is, lights, mask, fenders and hood have new dimensions.

 

 

The sides maintain an image very similar to that of the previous model, although with subtle changes in air vents and window outlines.

The rear also redesigns the bumper with a look similar to that of the 911 ST. As is customary at Porsche, in addition to some new colors for the body, there will also be an extensive customization program that will allow us to make our Panamera unique. We can even add single-bolt wheels, like the 911 GT3.

The Panamera continues to be a large car with a length of 5,052 mm, in fact it only grew three millimeters in length compared to the last generation. Its width is 1,938 mm and its height is 1,422 mm.

Taycan-inspired interior

Inside, the Panamera takes a design direction similar to that seen on the Taycan, the brand's electric sedan. In that case, to the 12.6” screens for infotainment and digital instrument panel, a third 10.9” screen can be optionally added for the co-pilot with greater control of entertainment elements.

Another somewhat controversial change is the removal of the gear selector on the center console. Porsche justifies this change in the use of space. As a replacement for this element, engineers added the gear selector with a paddle to the left side of the central display, just like in the 911.
