Last weekend in Chile, Honda presented the new CB750 Hornet, the last heir to the original CB600 Hornet from 1998, an urban-style but high-performance naked that has had some changes over the years, in order to adapt to the new needs of the market and its clients.

This model was only shown, since its marketing will begin in December, with deliveries for 2024.

Honda CB750 Hornet: the engine

Powering the Hornet we find a 755 cc twin-cylinder with a Unicam 8v cylinder head, which delivers 91 HP and 75 Nm of torque. With a 15.2 L tank, it achieves a consumption of 23 km/l for a range of more than 340 kilometers.

The engine has some electronic tricks, such as the "by wire" throttle, which allows you to enable three pre-programmed driving modes: Sport, Standard and Rain (there is a fourth mode, customizable). Additionally, these modes act on engine power, engine braking and the Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system with disengageable "wheelie" control.

Honda CB750 Hornet: chassis

The steel frame has a diamond-type design and is quite light, weighing only 16.6 kilos.

Regarding the suspension, it has a Showa 41mm SFF-BP inverted fork supported by upper and lower seatposts specific for the Hornet. According to the brand, this helps improve sports driving performance (especially braking at high speeds). The rear shock acts on a steel swingarm through ProLink, with 5-position preload adjustment with spring constant and damping settings optimized to complement the front fork.

The width of the front wheel is 3.5 inches and it is fitted with a 120/70-ZR17 tire; the rear 4.5 inches with 160/60-ZR17 tire.

Honda CB750 Hornet: technology

The Hornet has a 5-inch, high-visibility, full-color TFT screen that offers four types of monitoring. Control is carried out through this screen or with the switch cluster on the left side of the handlebar.

This screen allows the use of the Honda RoadSync system (available for Android and iOS) to control some functions of your phone such as music, maps and calls. The Honda Smartphone Voice Control system can be enabled for Android phones and also allows you to control these elements by voice.

Among the safety elements, the Hornet has ESS, which is basically the automatic activation of the "hazard" in sudden braking.
