[Auto] Toyota vs. Fiat: what is the best-selling car brand in Argentina

According to the Online Information System of the Automotive Market of Argentina (SIOMMA), during the tenth month of 2023, more than 41,000 vehicles were patented throughout the country. An increase of 23.9% was recorded compared to September 2023. Year-on-year the increase is 28.5%.

In nominal values, during October 2023, 41,681 vehicles were patented. Throughout the year, patents totaled 394,709 units. Year-on-year, the increase compared to last year is 11.4%.

Toyota: During the last month, 7,964 units were registered. That is, 20.1% of the total market. Comparing it to September 2023, an increase of 2,400 was recorded. In turn, 598 more cars were sold year-on-year. Throughout 2023, 81,418 units of the Japanese brand have been sold. In the same period but in 2022, 71,565 were patented. Percentage-wise, the difference between both years is positive 13.8%.
Volkswagen: During the last month, 6,041 units were registered. That is, 15.2% of the total market. Comparing it to September 2023, there is an increase of 23.5% since 1,151 more units were sold. In turn, year-on-year, an increase of 40.8% was recorded since 1,752 more vehicles were sold. Throughout 2023, 47,538 units of the German brand have been sold. In the same period but in 2022, 41,493 were patented, that is, the increase is 14.6%.
Renault: During the last month 4,990 units were registered. That is, 12.6% of the market. Comparing it to September 2023, an increase of 15.5% was recorded since 671 more units were sold. In turn, year-on-year, an increase of 14.8% was recorded as 645 more vehicles were sold. Throughout 2023, 44,397 units of the French brand have been sold. In the same period but in 2022, 37,875 were patented, that is, the increase is 17.2%.
Fiat: During the last month, 4,854 units were registered. That is, 12.2% of the total market. Comparing it to September 2023, the decline is 3.6% since 179 fewer units were sold. In turn, year-on-year, an increase of 27% was recorded as 1,033 more units were sold. Throughout 2023, 50,890 units of the Italian brand have been sold. In the same period but in 2022, 50,734 were patented, meaning that the recession is 0.3%.
Ford: During the last month, 3,844 units were registered. That is, it does not reach 9.7% of the market. Comparing it to September 2023, a positive difference of 13.4% was recorded since 454 more units were sold. In turn, year-on-year, an increase of 63.3% was recorded since 1,490 more units were sold. Throughout 2023, 32,726 units of the American brand have been sold. In the same period but in 2022, 23,784 were patented, that is, an increase of 37.6%.
