Roshni Chopra, who regularly shares effective beauty, home decor, fashion, and food tips with her followers, recently took to Instagram to demonstrate ‘katori face massage.’ “You don’t need fancy face tools to GLOW,” she wrote, adding that this technique is “fun, easy, and works.” In the video, the actor-influencer shared that she utilised a ‘katori’ or a small bowl from her kitchen to do this face lifting and sculpting massage. “This glides so smoothly and it’s so relaxing. The results are totally worth it,” she said. Dr Navya Handa, dermatologist, cosmetologist, and laser surgeon, Primus Super Speciality Hospital explained that a katori face massage is a skincare technique that involves the use of a small bowl or cup, often referred to as a ‘katori’ in Hindi, to provide a gentle and relaxing massage to the face. “This massage is typically performed using face oil or moisturiser to enhance the soothing and hydrating effects,” she mentioned. Dr Handa shared the following benefits of a katori face massage: *Relaxation: The gentle strokes and pressure of the katori massage can help relax facial muscles and reduce tension, promoting a sense of relaxation. *Improved circulation: Massaging the face with a katori can enhance blood circulation, which may result in a healthy and radiant complexion. *Lymphatic drainage: This massage technique may aid in lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness and improving the appearance of the skin. *Product absorption: The massage helps in better absorption of face oil or moisturiser, maximising their benefits for skin hydration. *Stress reduction: Like any massage, a Katori face massage can provide stress relief and a calming experience. “It’s important to perform this massage gently and with clean hands to avoid any skin irritation.
