El Máster Edwin
One-off paint job celebrates Ferrari’s success this year… in a different form of motorsport For the second year running, Ferrari has rolled out a special livery for its home race Italian Grand Prix at Monza. By which we mean it’s added some yellow bits… Last year the excuse - sorry, occasion - was the brand’s 75th anniversary; this year the team is celebrating the success of the 499P, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans back in June. The Hypercar and SF-23 already have Rosso Le Mans red in common as a base colour, but the latter will wear the former’s yellow ‘V stripes’ on the engine cover and nose. Meanwhile drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be decked out in one-off overalls, with the Monegasque sporting a yellow helmet and the Spaniard donning a black lid. Their race numbers - 16 and 55 - will both be yellow-ified. Le Mans winners Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessandro Pier Guidi will be in attendance, with their #51 crew bringing them the trophy to parade in front of the Tifosi. Antonio Fuoco - who set pole position in the sister #50 car at Le Mans - will be there to soak up the adulation as well. What chances of another Ferrari win this weekend? Given Max Verstappen’s nine-race winning streak (and that Ferrari's 2023 season so far could be condensed into its own episode of You've Been Framed) the odds are probably… quite long.
