Zacua, the first Mexican electric car brand, was born from the ingenuity of Jorge Martínez more than twenty years ago. The businessman worked as director of the largest parking company in the country, and when he saw the excess of vehicles that circulated, he understood that the world of mobility had to change.

Martínez envisioned the first electric car made in Mexico, partnered with electrical and mechanical engineers, and named the company Zacua after Emperor Moctezuma II's favorite bird of the 16th century. In 2018 it opened its first production plant, in the state of Puebla.
