Velocity Micro has revealed the latest Dual AMD EPYC Genoa & Dual Intel Sapphire Rapids Xeon CPU-powered workstation systems. The surprising thing about the two systems is that the AMD PC retails for a much lower price than the Intel option while offering more cores and memory.

Velocity Micro's Dual AMD EPYC 192-Core Workstation Retails Around $36,000 US, Dual Intel Xeon Sapphire Rapids System Starts At $56,000
Using the Velocity Micro customization wizard, I configured the HD360MAX Xeon Workstation with a dual Xeon Platinum 8490H CPU configuration with 120 cores and 240 threads in total, ending at $56,959 US. I also configured the ProMagix HD360A EPYC Workstation with dual EPYC 9654 CPUs, rounding up to 192 cores and 384 threads. This system costs $36,289 US which means that Intel's option is close to 55% more expensive.
