Bullitt Group (British mobile phone manufacturer) presented a device at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in collaboration with Motorola Mobility. Said innovation is called 'motorola defy satellite link', it is a Bluetooth device that provides satellite connectivity to any iOS or Android smartphone and is designed to avoid the lack of coverage.

Motorola defy satellite link is a Bluetooth accessory with a tether loop that allows any mobile the ability to connect to the Bullit Satellite Messenger app for two-way satellite messaging, SOS assistance and location sharing.

Bullitt Satellite Messenger is the first "direct to device" or NTN service based on 3GPP standards. The new range of motorola defy will use this service to access existing geostationary satellites, providing affordable and continuous coverage at an international level over established infrastructures.

With this new technology, users can send messages via satellite whenever they are in a place where they have a clear view of the sky. In addition, the device will connect via Bluetooth to any phone and geostationary satellites to send text messages when there is no mobile or WiFi connection.
