Synology launches DS220 +, DS420 +, DS720 + and DS920 +. This is a new generation of 2 and 4 bay NAS equipment. They are designed to provide centralized data management solutions for both home and business use.

Synology launches DS220 +, DS420 +, DS720 + and DS920 +

The DS220 + and DS420 + are equipped with a dual-core Intel Celeron J4025 processor, 2GB of DDR4 and 2 RAM, respectively 4 and 3.5 ”bays for mounting storage units. Thus, the storage capacity can reach a maximum of 32 and 64TB, respectively.

In addition, the DS420 + includes two NV.2 M.2 slots, which comply with the 2280 standard. Two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces with Link Aggregation and Failover support are available for network connection.

DS720 + and DS920 + are aimed primarily at users who want a higher level of performance and flexibility. Equipped with an Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM, they offer 2 M.2 slots with NVME support and 2 and 4 3.5 ”slots, respectively.

Moreover, both models are compatible with the Synology DX517 expansion unit. This gives users extensive storage with 5 more bays.

The new Plus models promise up to 133% faster response times for web pages. They also promise 15% better performance on processing tasks. In addition, M.2 slots can be used intelligently to accelerate IO performance. This significantly improves overall behavior in multi-user work environments.
