[M]anuel
The presence of two BMW M4 GT3s in the GTD Pro class under the RLL Racing flag is only certain at Daytona and Sebring. BMW and RLL Racing know that the main focus of their efforts for the 2022 season is on the development of their new LMDh. BMW Motorsport confirmed the presence of its BMW M4 GT3 in the GTD Pro class with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, its trusted structure. At that time, it was assumed that BMW's official presence in the new GT category of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship was to be full-time. However, Mike Krack as head of the brand's racing department has clarified that the idea is to have two units of his BMW M4 GT3 at Daytona and Sebring with official support. However, nothing has been defined from these two races. Thus, a scenario is drawn in which the BMW M4 GT3 can take over from the BMW M8 GTE on the same terms that the brand has competed in 2021, so its presence could be limited to the Michelin Endurance Cup races, or which is the same, to Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans. In fact, the options right now for a full program are remote, not least because the BMW and RLL Racing staff are on a mission to develop the LMDh prototype with which the brand will compete from next season.
