Colombia Justa Libres and Mira have a coalition to have a single list for the Senate.

 

The two largest Christian parties with legal status have agreed to jointly face the elections next year.

They agreed to create a political coalition for 2022 to face the congressional elections and are evaluating the possibility of extending it in relation to the presidency.

 

The Mira Movement and Colombia Justa Libres began to work in what they called the Great Coalition We Unite Colombia.

 

For now, only that alliance is destined for Congress. In that sense, what they have proposed is to have an open list for the Senate, made up of candidates from the two Christian parties.

 

But they are also betting on some cameras in the regions. Also with open lists.

 

Today between the two political movements there are six senators and two representatives to the House.

 

In the last elections for Congress, Colombia Justa Libres obtained a little more than 463,000 votes, while Mira obtained slightly more than 522,000 votes.

 

"We believe that we can get between eight and 10 senators and win at least 22 cameras," said Senator John Milton Rodríguez, presidential hopeful of Colombia Justa Libres (CJL).

 

As the first phase of the strategy is the Congress, the two parties have already met and defined how they will be ordered on the list. The odd numbers correspond to the Mira and the even numbers will be for Colombia Justa Libres.

 

In that order of ideas, in Mira, Senator Carlos Guevara aspires to be the head of the list for the Senate. The second could be Senator John Milton Rodríguez and the third would be for current Senator Ana Paola Agudelo, also from Mira.

 

In any case, this is subject to the issue of gender parity and whether Rodríguez is fully involved in the bid for the presidency in 2022.
