[M]anuel
In countries like Colombia, cases of this disease are still reported, deadly for animals and people. On September 28, 1895, the scientist Louis Pasteur, the French chemist, mathematician, physicist and bacteriologist who is credited with creating the world's first vaccine against rabies, died. Thanks to all his research, not only in the area of bacteriology, many human and animal lives were saved. Pasteur is credited with, among others, the first investigations into bird cholera, anthrax and the very famous pasteurization. For this reason, and also to highlight the life of this important scientist, World Rabies Day is commemorated every September 28. This celebration is made thanks to a joint effort between the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO, for its acronym in English). ), and the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC). These organizations, together with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), seek to draw the attention of governments, authorities and also pet owners in the prevention and control of rabies. link https://www.eltiempo.com/vida/mascotas/dia-mundial-contra-la-rabia-que-es-la-rabia-y-por-que-es-peligrosa-621423
