Ferrari 812 Competizione (2021) : une série spéciale qui peut encore nous faire rêver

Much awaited by all fans of the Italian brand with the prancing horse, a new special Ferrari series based on 812 Superfast is finally making its appearance. Fans are doubly spoiled, with the discovery of the 812 Competizione powered by a V12 of 830 hp as well as its discoverable version, called 812 Competizione A. When your heart is torn between caring for the environment and consuming passion for exceptional cars, an electric supercar may be the right solution. But sadly, none of those quiet cars have the flavor of a V12-powered sports car screaming right behind your head. In order to satisfy die-hard petrolheads with a well-stocked bank account, Ferrari is unveiling the new 812 Competizione special series and its variant with Targa roof, the 812 Competizione A (for “Aperta”, open). The centerpiece of these two cars is under the hood at the rear, it is an atmospheric 6.5 V12 still optimized by Ferrari engineers compared to that of the Superfast. The look of these beautiful Italians is not to be outdone with an even more expressive reworked body, geared towards aerodynamic performance. It's beautiful ! It's beautiful! +8 Photo Credit - Ferrari Even more spectacular than the 812 Superfast, the Ferrari 812 Competizione not only displays radical styling, its numerous vents and various body modifications help to optimize its aerodynamic efficiency. Engine fluid cooling is 10% more efficient in the Competizione thanks to enlarged air inlets behind the front fascia, the use of hood vents and air vents in the fenders. A huge carbon piece separates the long front cover transversely and conceals the air outlets which allow more heat to be evacuated from the V12 engine. At the rear, we mainly notice the aluminum engine cover which replaces the glass present on the Superfast. The machined openings in this body part generate vortices that channel turbulence, which helps optimize the operation of the ducktail spoiler, which is more pronounced than on the Superfast. The exhaust outlets pushed back at both ends of the large diffuser are now rectangular. Finally, the 812 Competizione A is characterized by a manually removable roof, all carbon, which can be stowed in the trunk at the rear. The configuration of the rear part is also specific with an arch above each front seat, visible in the open position, and a large flat arch just behind. It sends heavy! It sends heavy! +8 Photo Credit - Ferrari The Ferrari 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione A are powered by a magical V12 6.5 without life support, capable of howling up to 9500 rpm, knowing that the maximum power of 830 hp is reached at 9250 rpm. The engine develops 30 hp more than on the 812 Superfast. The increase in power came at the expense of torque, which drops from 718 Nm for the Superfast to 692 Nm for the Competizione (- 26 Nm). But rest assured, there is still plenty to do! The modifications made to the engine were not easy, as the connecting rods, the coating of the piston pins, the mass of the crankshaft, the shape of the cylinder heads and the distribution were modified in order to increase the power. A new engine mapping obviously accompanies all these mechanical changes. Thanks to a reduction of 38 kg compared to the Superfast, according to Ferrari, the Competizione displays a dry mass of 1,487 kg, for a 0 to 100 km / h announced in 2.85 seconds (0.05 seconds better than Superfast). The maximum speed exceeds 340 km / h. Question prices and number of copies for these special (limited?) Series, the Italian manufacturer remains silent for the moment.
