The National Police reported on Monday the rescue of the lifeless body of a man who accidentally fell into the Ulises Francisco Espaillat main channel, in the Cienfuegos neighborhood, Santiago Oeste municipal district, where he drowned.

 

According to a press release, Alexis Antonio Rodríguez Durán, 46, was driving a Toyota bus-type vehicle, wine red, license plate I026939, on Sunday when he rushed into said channel.

 

Members of the Civil Defense and the firefighters rescued the corpse, which when examined by the forensic doctor, certified that he died as a result of asphyxia due to drowning.

 

The van in which the deceased was traveling today is in the possession of the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digeset), for investigation purposes.

 

While the corpse was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), from where it was delivered to its affiliates for its Christian burial.
