[Auto/Moto] Digesett performs simultaneous taxiing to reduce traffic accidents

The General Directorate of Security and Traffic and Land Transport (Digesett) carried out the usual simultaneous taxiing that it does on these dates towards the entrance of Santo Domingo, in order to reduce road accidents.

 

The control on the roads began at 3:00 in the afternoon, from Punta Cana, Santiago and Baní, at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour, according to General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, director of the institution.

 

Around seven trucks and several engines escorted the drivers, many of whom honked horns and made obscene signals as a sign of annoyance at not being able to speed up.

 

Around a thousand agents participated in the operation, carried out on three roads in the country, and there were no mishaps, according to Guzmán Peralta.

 

The next highway will be on Sunday, January 3, 2021, said the entity's director when interviewed on the Juan Carlos Bridge, in Santo Domingo Este.
