EvKirito Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Santo Dominingo. The Ministry of Public Health ordered a seven-day quarantine "for all passengers" who arrive in the Dominican Republic from the United Kingdom or those whose travel began in that nation. The country has prohibited flights from that country after it was announced that a new strain of COVID-19 with faster contagion appeared in it. The measure is contained in resolution 000050 dated 23 this month and released this Friday by the Civil Aviation Board on its Twitter account (@JAC_RD) and it is not clear whether the flights will be authorized. It should be remembered that at this time, there are 34 Dominican passengers, from the United Kingdom, who have been quarantined for a period of ten days, by decision of the health authorities. Travelers are installed in the Customs vacation club. "We leave here Resolution 000050 of the Ministry of @SaludPublicaRD, which explains that passengers from special flights from Great Britain and its territories will be quarantined and under observation for 7 days," says the entity's statement without further details. The Public Health document indicates, in its first recital, that the “transitory” quarantine measure is ordered for all passengers arriving in the Dominican Republic from the United Kingdom, as well as those whose journey begins in the United Kingdom. The second point of the resolution establishes that the quarantine will be for a period of seven days. "People subject to these measures, on the sixth day a PCR control will be carried out, depending on the result of said control, the seventh day will be the last of said quarantine." Likewise, the portfolio orders the corresponding authorities to proceed to implement the measures contained in the resolution "immediately" at all borders, airports and ports of shipments in the Dominican Republic. 4
