FNX Magokiler
Between 2005 and 2019 the Stuttgart house developed in absolute secrecy a series of concept vehicles that never saw the light. Among them, a modern zero-emission van caught the eye. A few days ago, the German manufacturer Porsche unveiled a total of 15 concept vehicles that were developed under absolute secrecy between 2005 and 2019. Among them, the one that attracted the most attention was a striking 100% electric van whose design was inspired by space shuttles. . For the tranquility of the most purists, the minivan will never see light and it was only a development exercise that ended with the construction of a single example as a full-scale model (1: 1) in 2018 and that sought to explore the revolutionary concept of a van Porsche The Zuffenhausen design department was in charge of bringing the distinctive features of the brand to this concept that has six seats with three front seats, according to the Motor1.com site. A unique detail, the report indicates, is that the driver's seat is located in the center of the vehicle, in the style of Gordon Murray's McLaren F1, McLaren Speedtail or T.50. Regarding its design, the van has a large glass area, a very clean front, generous wheels of interesting design, short overhangs and, in general, a quite futuristic air, with cameras instead of mirrors and the inscription “Sport Tourer ”At the rear, which also has a roof spoiler. As indicated, all the electrical parts and components were located in the lower part of the bodywork to maximize the interior space of which few details are known, since official images of the cabin were not delivered. “Regarding the concept cars that we develop, the ultimate goal is not for everyone to hit the road, but to establish a creative space and a projection into the future,” explained Michael Mauer to describe the design process. The chief designer of Porsche added that these exercises allow you to continue developing as a brand, improving products from the present, in addition to "unleashing your creativity." He added that “the design process begins with a sketch. In the next step, it is displayed as a 3D model. Later, when an idea is developed further, small 1: 3 scale models are produced, followed by 1: 1 scale hard models ”. The latter, he specified, are basically “models with an outer cover to simulate the paint and elements such as headlights and turn signals. The virtual world is the first step but, especially with these unusual models, you have to experience them in reality to understand if the car is small, large or has surprising proportions, "he explained.
