Bugatti managers have been "heating up" the atmosphere for a few days. They had been working on a new project for a while, but they wanted to keep the suspense. All, apart from the rumors that the Volkswagen Group could be interested in getting rid of them. In fact, to this day no one from the German consortium has come out to confirm or deny whether they are in talks to sell it.

Well, the end of hints and hoaxes has come today. We can now officially introduce you to the Bugatti Bolide. As you can imagine, this is a hypercar that arrives to smash all possible records on the circuits. Perhaps it was born to establish a new maximum speed record or other rarer ones for its rivals. If you like it, we recommend that you keep reading, because the technical level of the Molsheim guys is at a high level.

The Bugatti Bolide boasts carbon and X-shaped headlights

As we already told you a couple of days ago, the image of the Bugatti Bolide is very aggressive. Not surprisingly, it is a product that is designed to shine on a circuit. Therefore, its creators have put aside the "street" elements to include those necessary for this task. Thus, we have a very sharp front in which the air intakes dominate. The small horseshoe-shaped grill or the openings on the hood or roof stand out.

The roof intake manifold is one of the Bolide's firsts. It can modify its appearance based on speed to optimize engine performance and aerodynamics. Another element that draws attention is the "X" -shaped light clusters. This peculiar design has a reason for being, specifically it is a tribute to the Bell X-1 aircraft with which Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in 1947.

If we have to talk about dimensions, the size of the Bolide is considerable. It reaches 1.99 meters wide and its battle is 2.75 meters. The height to the ground is satisfied with about 9.95 centimeters. Finally, it should be noted that the proportion of panels and parts finished in visible carbon fiber increases to 60 percent. Therefore, and as you can see, only 40 percent of his body is painted in the typical blue of the brand.

Inside there are no luxuries, just enough to drive and enjoy

To define the essence of the interior of the Bugatti Bolide we will leave you with the statements of the CEO of the brand, Stephan Winkelmann ...

"The Bolide represents Bugatti in its purest form, with only four wheels, an engine, a gearbox, a steering wheel and, as the only luxury, two seats"

Its physiognomy and conception is designed not to separate the view from the circuit. To access the interior, the doors open diagonally upwards and behind them we find a narrow cabin. To control the time and the engine, the driver has a full screen on the steering wheel. All in all, the seat is fixed although the pedals and footrests can be adjusted by up to 15 centimeters.

The design of the steering wheel and dashboard is very sporty. As a curiosity, and following the trend set by other models of the brand, the visible carbon fiber predominates. In addition, the blue suede leather covers much of the surfaces. Regarding the equipment, the Bolide has an automatic fire extinguishing system, light polycarbonate windows or a six-point seat belt system.

Its 1,850 CV are born from the 8.0 W16 block although they have a trick

If you have come this far, you have loved the Bugatti Bolide. The technique of this supercar shows the engineering level of the Molsheim engineers. In fact, its monocoque carbon chassis is developed thanks to the aerospace industry. It offers high torsional stiffness, but also helps the final weight of the set to remain at 1,240 kilos (dry).

The obsession to reduce tare has been so great that the screws and connecting elements are made of titanium. Another element to highlight are the brake calipers, which thanks to magnesium remain at 2.4 kilos. These measurements allow the power-weight ratio to be 0.67 kilos per CV. Do you remember that the other day we talked about this number? Well, we got the first premonition right, although there are more ...

The Bugatti Bolide offers 1,850 hp and 1,850 Nm of maximum torque. This performance comes from the block 8.0 W16 and four turbos that the Chiron uses, among others. However, this data has a bit of a trick, as it is achieved using 100 octane gasoline. If we use a "current" (such as the one sold in Spain) of 98 octane, the potential will remain at some, also generous, 1,600 CV.

All in all, its features are as expected for a supercar model. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.17 seconds and strokes 200 kilometers per hour in 4.36 seconds. To this must be added that it will be able to exceed 500 kilometers per hour of maximum speed and offer a lateral acceleration of 2.8 G. To finish, it is not known if the Bolide will reach the market or not.
