The Mercedes-Benz EQC is based on a modified version of the MHA platform that underpins the Mercedes-Benz GLC. The electric SUV features a large grille having black louvers and a prominent three-pointed star affixed in the centre. The grille is flanked by full-LED headlights that have blue inserts and are surrounded by LED DRLs. At the rear, you will come across LED tail lamps that are joined by an LED strip. One might argue that the EQC electric SUV does not get a spacious cabin, but it is definitely loaded with some premium bells and whistles. The dashboard has been elegantly designed. Unlike several Mercedes SUVs, the EQC gets elongated air vents. The MBUX infotainment system boasts of natural voice control, touch-sensitive surfaces and navigation. Also available are features like digital instrument panel, multi-function steering wheel and pre-entry climate control. Among the safety features are seven airbags, blind spot assist, active brake assist, attention assist and the pre-safe system.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is equipped with two asynchronous electric motors, one on each axle, translating into an all-wheel-drive system for the electric SUV. Both the motors combine to produce maximum power of 408bhp and peak torque of 760Nm. The motors are paired with an 80kWh lithium-ion battery pack that weighs 652kg. The EQC can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 5.1 seconds and touch a top speed of 180kmph. According to WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure), the Mercedes-Benz EQC has a range of 445-471km.

The EQC's 80kWh lithium-ion battery can be fully charged from 10 per cent in 90 minutes using a 50kWh DC fast charger. With a 7.4kWh AC wall box charger, a 10-100 per cent charge can be achieved in 10 hours. A 2.4kWh home electrical charger will take 21 hours to completely juice up the electric SUV's battery from 10 per cent.

So far as the dimensions are concerned, the new Mercedes-Benz EQC measures 4,761mm in length, 2,096mm in width (including mirrors and 1,624mm in height. It has a 2,873mm long wheelbase. The boot can hold approximately 500litres of cargo.
