On Wednesday, China launched the "aircraft carrier killer" missile in the South China Sea, and followed it, on Thursday, with a statement that the Chinese army would not let the United States raise problems.

China announced that its army launched two missiles into the South China Sea, including the "aircraft carrier killer", which military analysts believe may have been developed to attack US forces in the region.

According to the "South China Morning Post", in its Thursday issue, the DF-26B and DF-21D missiles, which were launched Wednesday, targeted an area between the southern island of Hainan and the Paracel Islands.

Wednesday's launches came after Chinese complaints that a US spy plane had entered a "no-fly zone" declared by Beijing during a military exercise off its northern coast, according to the Associated Press.

The DF-21 missile is considered one of the most accurate missiles, and military analysts have dubbed it "an aircraft carrier killer" who believe it was developed to target US aircraft carriers that may be involved in a potential conflict with China.

On the other hand, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, Wu Qian, said Thursday that the Chinese army will never "dance to the US tune" and will not let it "create problems," according to Reuters.

The spokesman said, during a monthly press briefing and in an atmosphere characterized by tension between the armies of the two countries, that his country hopes that the United States will take practical measures to provide a "positive atmosphere" for high-level cooperation between the two armies.
