The first match of Group B of the Winners Cup pitted Miriam Bulgaru (381 WTA) and Jaqueline Cristian (162 WTA), part of the Romanian FED Cup team against Russia, lost in the decisive match, by double.

Miriam Bulgaru managed to produce the surprise and defeated Jaqueline Cristian in the decisive set, 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.

Also on Thursday, live on Digi Sport 2, the matches between Georgia Crăciun and Gabriela Ruse, from group A, will take place at 17:00, and the one between Irina Begu and Miriam Bulgaru, not earlier than 18:30 .

The athletes ranked on the first two positions in the groups will obtain the qualification in the semifinals phase, and the winner of the tournament will play, on Sunday, at 16:30, a mixed doubles match, together with Simona Halep, Horia Tecău and Marius Copil.
