[MC]Ronin[MC]
Will there be enough teachers and engineers in a decade How serious are the imbalances in the labor market and what are the ways to overcome them In 10 years there will be a shortage of staff in all areas, but the most painful one will be the shortage of technicians. This forecast for the development of the Bulgarian labor market was recently made by the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev. Many economists and lawyers and few engineers and teachers - so briefly the problem seems to be solved, which a new measure has been promised by the Ministry of Education - monthly scholarships of 100 levs for students with good grades after 12th grade, who chose to study in the country priorities. fields such as pedagogical, physical, chemical and engineering sciences. How serious are the imbalances in the labor market and what are the ways to overcome them? Assoc. Prof. Agata Manolova is the Deputy Dean for the academic unit at the Faculty of Telecommunications at the Technical University of Sofia. "Students have the opportunity to find a job from the first year - so many want it. Our specialty is one - telecommunications engineer, but there are specialties related to mobile operators that can be used in radio and television. Our students work in video game development, augmented and virtual reality development companies, making applications. The range of work is terribly wide and covers some of the most up-to-date areas in the engineering sciences, "she told BNR. The pay is above average levels, says Assoc. Prof. Manolova. "A student in the first and second year, when she goes to work in companies that are specialized, probably over 2 thousand BGN salary, starting." More than 98% of the graduates of the Faculty of Telecommunications work in their specialty. However, the shortage of staff remains sensitive. Assoc. Prof. Manolova sees one of the reasons for the choice of many young people to study abroad without returning. Years ago, engineering was not so much sought after and desired, Agata Manolova recalls. "Now we're catching up. What was previously desirable - as a legal profession, as an economics - now has low tide because there is not so much work for these people. More engineering is being sought at the same time. " Why 20% of young people neither work nor study Assoc. Prof. Manolova emphasizes that education in our country is at the average European level. There are faculties in the Technical University that are taught in a foreign language and are accredited by the respective countries. "Accordingly, the student will also receive a diploma from the country in which the faculty is accredited. That is, you do not need to go to any Western European country, spend a solid amount of money, or have to work as a cleaner, washer, etc. to get the same education you can get here, provided you are funded and from the country." Ilian Kordev is a student at the Technical University. He is studying in the field of Informatics and Software Sciences. Appreciates the introduction of scholarships for students who have chosen to pursue areas of priority such as pedagogical or engineering sciences. "Because it would motivate a lot of students to enroll in these areas." Ilian also has a positive opinion on the efforts of the business to find and support its future staff from the student bench - through scholarships or internships. "Because a lot of students will be able to go to one company in a few months and there they will be able to apply the knowledge they have gained at the university." They provide BGN 46 million for student internships in a real work environment Mihail Angelov is a PhD student, who chose Informatics because of the relatively quick and easy realization on the labor market. Michael studied at the Montana School of Mathematics and went to Sofia University in the fall. "Salary - maybe a few thousand levs, enough for me to make a living." The beginning of each school year is marked by a shortage of teaching staff. According to Assoc. Prof. Lilyana Strakova, Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ", the increase in teachers' salaries in recent years has significantly influenced the outflow of staff from the teaching profession. "Things have turned around - this sharp, sharp increase in teacher salaries is a very strong motivation for young people to orient themselves and remain in the teaching profession." Currently, science teachers are mostly missing out. Universities, however, make it necessary to overcome this shortcoming in the coming years. "That's why hybrid majors - physics and chemistry, mathematics and physics - have been recently opened at universities. Our system, of higher education, is oriented in stride, "explains Prof. Strakova. The next 10 years are critical to the human resources market For Alma Mater fourth-year pedagogy teacher Katya Dimitrova this is the second major after graduating from the Faculty of Geology and Geography.
