[MC]Ronin[MC]
The secret of impactful design Iveta PopovaIvet Popova What makes a space design really good? A question that can offer different answers is - is it a design that delicately balances the needs of the residents with the cost of the investment to create it, or is it one that enhances their lives? And what makes him apart from being good and influential? For me, as an architect and designer, this answer simply consists in making the interior meaningful to the occupant, complementing and emphasizing the qualities of the space, making it better. An approach to creating such a design is for me a place that is comfortable for all senses. The effect of engaging the senses Surely everyone has experienced at least once that moment of "on-going" memory or sensation of a person, an event, only smelled of a familiar scent. And maybe even a sudden, deep emotion even with the first music chords on a favorite track? Making sense of our lives is subordinated to multi-sensory connections that we create consciously and subconsciously. Therefore, the environment that we will consider comfortable should also engage the senses on many levels, and most importantly, not to annoy them, but to comfort them. It is no accident that in nature one feels extremely comfortable. It is an environment that offers endless visual stimuli, a bouquet of flavors and plenty of sounds in the most perfect form. That is why I believe that the way we perceive information through our senses and build a whole sense of our surroundings is an extremely important aspect to consider when creating an interior. Architecture and interior are the art of synchronizing between environment, space and man. And the real professionalism is to know how the inhabitant perceives in order to offer the best individual solution, which will give him the right meaning and define him as comfort. The relationship between senses and spatial design? We can influence how people feel in a space through its physical design. The physical aspects of space not only stimulate how we move, but also create a mood, atmosphere or shared energy that is perceived by our brain - both consciously and unconsciously. This perception is refracted through our personal sensation through the senses and the larger picture, created by our experiences in the respective environment. In order to create a meaningful experience for people in a given space, we must design, engaging the mind (perception at the cognitive level) and the body (perception at the sensory level) with a deliberately designed environment. We can express it in a unique way: mind + body + environment = impactful experience. An important part is creating the atmosphere. It contains many aspects and stimuli - visual, sound, taste. The shape of space gives us a starting point, from then on we play with colors, light, touch. Each of these elements provides key opportunities for us to consider what sensory signals the place will convey and what experience we would like to present to residents. Is it quiet and relaxing? Is it provocative and stimulating? That is why it is important to be careful about the right choice of materials. Both visual and tactile sensation are actively involved here. Overall lighting design, temperature control, a well-designed acoustic environment are just some of the aspects we need to integrate for full impact.
