The crossover boom pushes Ford Focus outside the US, where the company strips most of its passenger cars off the assembly lines. In Europe, customers also rely on crossovers, but the situation is different here. This is proven by the latest statistics on the continent's 20 key markets, where Ford Focus has a record since 2015, generating 194,700 sales by the end of October. That is, Ford sold one Focus every 135 seconds. The fourth generation of the model increased its share in the compact segment by 1.8% compared to the same period last year. The fourth generation of the model was launched in June 2018, with more than 250,000 sales on the Old Continent so far. With this, Focus's total sales in Europe over the years (1998 to the present) exceed 7 million. Ford Focus ST: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (test drive) One of the reasons for this strong performance is the wide model family and many levels of equipment. Unlike the previous generation, the new is also available as a raised Active van and hatchback. Now comes the new Active X Vignale modification. It steps on 17-inch wheels, has black side mirror boxes and a roof that contrast with the color of the body. The list of equipment includes everything from LED headlights and leather upholstery to head-up displays and Active Park Assist. In 2020, Ford will continue to develop the model family with the launch of a soft hybrid version. We will probably have a 1.0-liter EcoBoost with three cylinders and an electric motor with a total output of around 150 hp. This version will be one of the 14 electrified models the company will launch in Europe by the end of 2020, including eight this year.
