MediaTek knows how to produce affordable chips, and Intel has the technology required for 5G and a large market where it can integrate the new solution.

The first manufacturers to adopt 5G chips will be Dell and HP starting in 2021. In this collaboration, Intel will integrate the SoCs into the laptops that will come with their processors, design and optimize the SoCs produced by MediaTek and their technologies.

Modems will be able to be integrated into laptops on the M.2 interface, Fibocom being a partner that will make it possible to integrate this technology and in M.2 format as an extra extension for those who want to integrate such a modem later on a laptop. or PC with M.2 slot.
