$ 5.9 million. That's the amount the Ferrari F2002 was auctioned for in Abu Dhabi - the car Michael Schumacher drove during his Formula One season-opening season, Reuters and BGNES reported.

The event, organized at the Yas Marina track by Sotheby's Auction House, was designated as the first of its kind by car collectors in the Middle East. During the auction, several old Formula 1 sports cars were offered to the attention of collectors.

Schumacher was behind the wheel of a Ferrari F2002 during races in San Marino, Austria, and France.

The 1982 Ferrari 126 C2, driven by Mario Andretti, also changed its owner for $ 1.9 million. A Benetton B192 car driven by Schumacher in 1992 sold for $ 725,000.

The Aston Martin One-77 changed its owner for $ 1,275,000, and the Mercedes AMG G63 6x6 truck was sold for $ 660,000.

Surprisingly, the most expensive car at the auction turned out to be the one-of-a-kind 2017 Pagani Zonda Aether, which sold for $ 6,050,000.
