Forecasters have warned of heavy snowfall and icy roads. The storm caused the death of at least one person in South Dakota. Highways in the western United States - California and Arizona - have been closed, with authorities in those states urging drivers not to travel and to wait for bad weather to pass. Cold and snowfall are expected to cover the Midwest and some of the Northeast states over the weekend. Flooding warnings have been issued in places due to heavy rain. A hazardous weather warning has been issued for much of the country - from Montana to Nebraska and Wisconsin. Heavy snow is expected in parts of Utah, Colorado, Montana and Wyoming.
