Dark Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 The women's soccer team maintained the tie against the United States. After a goal from the penalty team in the first minutes of the game, Jenni Hermoso equalized the match five minutes later. However, the US team returned to condemn Spain from the eleven meters. In minute 71, the collegiate whistled the maximum penalty for an entry of Virginia Torrecilla. After reviewing it in the VAR for several minutes, the decision was confirmed and, subsequently, Megan Rapinoe advanced again to the United States on the scoreboard. The North American player adjusted her throw to the right post of goalkeeper Sandra Paños, who did not arrive for very little to reject the ball. Rapinoe had already made another penalty in the first minutes of the game. In that action Heath was the one that fell before Mapi León inside the area, in a clear penalty and that did not cause doubts in the collegiate, as it happened in the second maximum penalty. Spain was eliminated against the favorites, but leaves with the head high and with the satisfaction that the world champion could only mark them from the penalty spot.
