Rocket League finally gets full cross-platform play support

It's been a long time coming, but Rocket League is finally cross-play compatible across all major formats, with PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One gamers able to play together.

Rocket League has previously utilised cross-play, although PS4 was never part of the equation in regards to the home console version. You could team up with PC owners, but not Switch and Xbox One players.

Now, thanks to Rocket League being assimilated into PS4's cross-play beta program, PC and console players can all join the same match.

'Today's announcement is an important one for us here at Psyonix, because we know how much our community has wanted FULL cross-platform support for quite some time,' said the developer. 'It's because of YOU, our fans, and our generous partners on all systems and services that have made this possible in the first place.

'On behalf of the entire team, THANK YOU for your passion and persistence as we continue to do our best to make Rocket League the best experience we can.'
