Android 9.0 in beta has begun to appear on Galaxy S9 devices

Samsung is used to delay software upgrades for its phones, even if they are part of the Galaxy S and Notebooks. But it looks like the Android 9.0 Pie is upgrading, the company is rushing a little bit, especially because it wants to bring its new One UI interface to market faster, which should address the usage problems many people have encountered last. Thus, Galaxy S9 users have already begun accessing Android 9.0 Pie in beta.

The first reports on the availability of Samsung's upgrade package for the Galaxy S9 come from South Korea, the company's mother company. Upgrading is bigger than usual for Samsung at 1.7 GB, but it brings two major updates. First, make the transition from Android 8.1 Oreo to Android 9.0 Pie, with a newer security update, and then adds the One UI interface, which completely replaces what used to be in the past on Samsung's phones as Samsung Experience .

Each individual application has been completely remodeled to provide a more enjoyable one-hand experience. Thus, all menus and buttons will be positioned at the bottom of the screen, showing useful information that you do not have to actually tap on.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the actual launch of this update in the final version, but the plan is that the first compatible Galaxy S9, S9 + and Note9 phones will receive it early next year, probably before launching the Galaxy S10. South Korean users are the first to have access to this update, but beta testing will soon be extended to users in the United States, Germany and the UK in the near future.

Samsung has confirmed that more countries will get access in the next period, so there is a possibility that One UI and Android 9.0 Beta can be tested on devices in Romania in the near future. Enrollment in beta is done through the Samsung Members app, which is preinstalled on S9 and Note9.
