Angrry.exe™
Google has released today the monthly report that shows us the distribution of the Android operating system. In July, the ranking leader is still Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with a percentage of 31.8% of the total devices used, followed closely by Android Lollipop by 30.1%. Compared with last month, Android 7.0 and 7.1 Nougat recorded an increase of only 2.4%, now reaching a market share of 11.5%. Analysts are of the opinion that this increase is largely due to the adoption of state-of-the-art devices and less of the updates provided by manufacturers, which in most cases are very late. Android 4.4 KitKat ranks 3rd in the ranking with 17.1%, down 1% compared to the previous month's report, followed by Android Nougat, followed by Android Jelly Bean with a market share of 8.1 Android Ice Cream Sandwich, 0.7%, and Android Gingerbread, 0.7%. These results, of course, reflect the distribution of the Android operating system only for the terminals running Google Play Services. As you probably know, there are not much distribution in China with a pre-installed Google application suite, and most manufacturers are opting for highly-powered Android forks that feature alternative application stores. Therefore, the results reported by Google remain questionable. Now you are probably wondering who is guilty of the late adoption of Android 7.0 Nougat, launched almost a year ago. The answer is simple: big smartphone manufacturers. Samsung and LG, as well as po[CENSORED]r Chinese giants such as Huawei, OnePlus and Xiaomi, prefer to lure their buyers through all kinds of highly personalized and feature rich software (aka bloatware) which, in addition to making it difficult very much the operating system, turns the update process into a true calvary.
