Angrry.exe™
The reason why this computer over 40 years old sold for 110,000 euros The sale price was below the estimates of the specialists, based on the amounts obtained at other similar auctions. A computer of the legendary "Apple-I", one of the first personal computers in history, was awarded a sum of 110,000 euros at an auction held Saturday in Germany. "Five years after Steve Jobs's death, Apple cofounder, the frenzy has normalized," said Uwe Breker, the commissioner of this auction in Cologne. Breker auction house, specializing in "technology antiques", estimated that the sale price will be between 180,000 and 300,000 euros for this famous computer, still in operation. It was put on sale alongside the purchase invoice, instruction manual and various documents of the original owner - a Californian engineer. The device, one of the 200 "Apple-I" models put up for sale by a company recently set up by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, was bought by a German engineer who owns a collection of old computers. Worldwide, only eight Apple-I models are still in operation. Their rarity and a true worship that has sprung up around Apple, boosted after Steve Jobs's death, made the amounts paid at auctions for such personal computers reach record levels. Another model of the same range was sold in 2013 with 516,000 euros at an auction organized by Breker House.
