Blexfraptor Posted December 8, 2018 Share Posted December 8, 2018 The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced yesterday the signing of contracts with Russia for the investment of more than 6,000 million dollars in oil projects, gold exploitation and wheat supply. Maduro, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, explained that a contract was signed in Moscow that guarantees that more than 5,000 million dollars will be used to raise oil production, and another 1,000 million for mining production, especially the gold, and with the possibility of investing in the diamond sector. The president also reported on the signing of a contract that guarantees the supply of 600,000 tons of wheat "for bread for the Venezuelan people", which will cover the needs of his country in 2019. At the military level, both parties signed contracts "for the attention, assistance and repair of the weapons system" of Venezuela. Also, in a meeting between the defense ministers of both countries, the Venezuelan official Vladimir Padrino López told his Russian colleague Sergei Shoigú the Caracas interest in modernizing and renewing their military equipment, while Shoigú stressed that Russia is interested in continuing to use the airports and ports of Venezuela for its warships and military aviation.
